Greetings -

We have just concluded another ToPS Total Immersion course.  This one was right here in Dallas, Texas.  The group included some veteran teams that I have known for many years as well as some new faces that are just starting out on the ToPS journey.  Why do the vets keep coming back?  Because there is always more to learn and a higher level of skill to achieve that will produce even greater results.  The “new” practices arrive because of the new vision, skills and possibilities that the new learning and systems provide.   Make sure to check out the ’09-’10 ToPS Total Immersion dates in this e-mail as well as at www.TotalPatientService.com

Speaking of new learning, I am frequently asked what is the best way to keep a team motivated?  Among all of the different things that motivate us, I believe there is one FOUR LETTER WORD that is the biggest motivator of all.  Incorporate it into you office culture, and you will be unstoppable.  To learn more about this powerful team motivator, make sure to read this week’s ToPS Blog at: www.TotalPatientService.BlogSpot.com.

Have a great week as you make your team ToPS.

Morning Huddle Action Thoughts

June 1
Thought:  Think transitional–sync-ing and linking.

Action:  Listen attentively to those around you and apply their ideas to your situation in a new configuration.  That’s creativity.

June 2
Thought:  Lettuce is like conversation; it must be fresh, crisp, and sparkling.
Charles Dudley Warner

Action:  Bring something bright and upbeat to the morning huddle that all team members can use to brighten everyone’s day.

June 3
Thought:  It is impossible to help another person without helping yourself.

Action:   Never let that which you receive exceed that which you give.  If it does temporarily, see that you give more and you will receive more still.

June 4
Thought:  The stones that critics hurl with harsh intent, a man may use to build his monument.  Arthur Guiterman

Action:  Accept criticism gratefully and graciously.  First, it may alert you to something your associates may hesitate to tell you.  Second, it provides you with an opportunity to psychoanalyze your critic whom you will probably discover has many more problems than you do.

June 5
Thought:  Whatever I did not know, I was not ashamed to inquire about, so I acquired knowledge.   Ancient Persian Philosopher

Action:  Remember today and every day to “ASK.”
