Greetings -

Thanks to the great people in the UK this week for their warm welcome and response at the World Aesthetic Congress in London.  It was great to be with old friends as well as make new ones.  We are looking forward to hearing about your results as you implement the things we worked on together.

If you have been in any of our presentations in the last five years, you have heard me talk about Dr. Roy and Frances Hammond who have made such a positive impact on our lives and the lives of thousands of dentists and patients around the world who have benefited from their service and example.  We were saddened at the passing of Frances Hammond last week.  I’ve dedicated the ToPS Blog this week to the Hammonds.  Make sure to read our tribute to an extraordinary couple that has made an extraordinary difference in life by going to www.totalpatientservice.blogspot.com.

Have a great week as YOU make a difference in the lives of your patients and the people you serve.

Morning Huddle Action Thoughts

June 15
Thought:  The dental team will be more effective than the total of the capabilities of the individual members of all team members if all team members have the attitude that they are in business for themselves.

Action:  See that the minds and hearts of all dental team members are focused on the same goals.  What makes the individuals successful makes the practice successful, but in this way the whole becomes much greater than the sum of the parts.

June 16
Thought:  Every question a patient asks is an opportunity, not an obstacle.

Action:  Make a list of all of the questions the dental team can think of that patients ask.  Rehearse the presentation of the answers in a role play.  Present the answers with appropriate enthusiasm, concern, drama, mystery or sometimes even humor.

June 17
Thought:  While we deliberate about beginning, it is already too late to begin.  Quintilian

Action:  Take inventory and begin today to take care of whatever it is you have been delaying.

June 18
Thought:  What you say about the practice will be repeated by others word for word.

Action:  Be sure all members of the dental team have clearly in mind a compelling benefit statement that describes your practice in catchy, descriptive terms.  Repeat it often to patients and others with whom you meet.

June 19
Thought:   Write in your heart that every day is the best day of the year. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Action:  During the morning huddle, ask every dental team member to tell one thing that makes the current day the best day of the year so far.   That will give everyone a boost.
