Greetings -

What is going on in dentistry today?  I have been in Springfield, MA, Denver, Las Vegas, Dallas, and Atlanta in the last two weeks working with several hundred dental teams.

Here’s my take: there is renewed sense of purpose in dentistry that is based on a higher sense of personal service.  Not the amenity type service focused on luxuries and excess.  It’s not about the practice.  It’s about the patient.  In the last few years,the size, expensive decor, and the fewest number of days a dentist could work seemed to be the hallmarks of “success.” Not any more!  Meeting patients where they are, giving back to the community, and connecting with patients and their value system are trumping ego and false pride.  It is inspiring to see.  It is thrilling to watch.

The best way I know how to stay plugged in and turned on the what matters most in the office every day is to build a solid foundation on the principles of Total Patient Service. Make sure to check out our ToPS “Total Immersion” dates for the rest of this year as well as 2010.  It is the best way to continue to build a solid foundation upon which you can build for years to come.

Thought:  New challenges can re-energize and restore enthusiasm.

 

Action:  Pick a new challenge today.  Something you have never done or attempted in your job.  Take on the challenge and make it happen today! It will re-energize and excite you!
