Greetings -
Of the many “sins” in dentistry, giving up too soon is one of the biggest. Not abiding by“The Law of 3” may be one of the biggest reasons patients don’t understand, don’t accept, and don’t tell the REAL reason they are not going to move ahead with treatment.Brush up on “The Law of 3” by reading this week’s ToPS Blog at www.TotalPatientService.BlogSpot.com
Have a great week as you conclude each morning huddle with one of the action thought below.
Morning Huddle Action Thoughts
December 14
Thought:A wise man does no wrong in changing habits with the times. Dionysius Cato
Action:What one positive habit will you start developing or recommit to today?A positive attitude, smiling, having a “willing to do it” outlook, are just a few of the habits that will make you a better person and a better member of the team.
December 15
Thought: Begin where the patient is whether or not that fits your version of an ideal patient or not.Steve Anderson
Action: Focus on meeting patients where they are today. What do they want? What are their biggest concerns? What do they perceive to need? Why do they want it?When you understand them and they know you understand them, then they will start to understand you and the treatment you are proposing.
December 16
Thought: Remember when you are making changes that the assurances given are not always received at face value.Leslie Wilk Braksick, Ph.D.
Action:When proposing treatment today, remember that it is a change for the patient. What is common and usual for you, may be new to them. Be patient, willing to explain, answer questions, and work all the way through the patients’ concerns today. They will appreciate it and be more willing to move forward when you do.
December 17
Thought:One sure way to get rewarded is to reward yourself!
Action: Write down a task today that you will commit to do or do better.Keep score on yourself.Write down the progress in your performance.Celebrate when you show forward progress!
December 18
Thought:What do we live for if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?
George Eliot
Action:Choose at least one thing that you will do to make someone’s life or job easier today.Quietly go about it and smile when it is done.
