Greetings -
Morning Huddle Action Thoughts
May 3
Thought:Be not simply good, be good for something.Thoreau
Action:Do something today that will surprise everyone, maybe something no one knew you had the willingness or perhaps the ability to do.
May 4
Thought: Our strength grows out of our weakness.Emerson
Action: It is said that the secret to long life is to discover an ailment and nurse it.Perhaps likewise the secret to significant achievement is to discover a weakness and enjoy turning it into a strength. Quit arguing for your weakness today and imagine and act on it as if it were a strength.
May 5
Thought:If any man thinks it a small matter to bridle his tongue, he is much mistaken.Plutarch
Action:Count it a triumph.Restrain yourself on at least one occasion today from making a criticism or an unnecessary “bright remark.”
May 6
Thought:Having lived long, I have experienced many instances of being obliged by better information or fuller consideration to change opinions even on important subjects which I once thought right, but found to be otherwise.Benjamin Franklin
Action:If anyone as wise as Benjamin Franklin was willing to put away pride and willingly change his viewpoint, it would certainly be worthwhile to follow his good example.
May 7
Thought:Of course everything has been said that needs to be said–but since not everyone was listening, it has to be said again.(And since someone wasn’t attentive when this counsel was originally given, the author is unknown).
Action:Think of some admonition previously given that you intended to put into action but haven’t followed through on.Implement it today. And to test your listening skills, it might be a good idea to see if you can remember who advocated it in the first place.
